Generally speaking, there is a correlation between price and value. In the case of Mexico's much lower dental costs in no way should one infer a lower quality product or service?

The main reasons for the affordable prices in Mexico:

  1. The USA and Mexico are two distinct countries with different economic systems. Mexico must charge rates that make dental care affordable for its citizens. It just so happens that the Dollar buys more relative to the peso.

  2.  In America, before entering dental school, students must earn a 4-year bachelor's degree. The four-year degree alone can run as much as $80,000. Then they come to a 4-year dentistry program. Completing a full dentistry program can cost approximately $166,240 to more than $300,000, depending on the school. In contrast, Mexico dental students enter dental school immediately after high school. While both public and private dental schools are available, the government schools are somewhat subsidized and require a one-year mandatory public service in return. The Mexican dentist then is relatively debt-free and able to start a practice. While the American counterpart must add to their 4-year degree the cost of starting a new dental practice, which can be significant—sometimes upwards of $250,000. It cost more to become a dentist in America.

  3. The industry tightly regulates the number of dentists in America. In Mexico, no such constraints are leading to an overabundance of dentists leading to lower cost. In Nuevo Progreso alone, more than approximately 200 dentists are vying for your business.

  4. Land, labor, insurance, and overhead, in general, are cheaper in Mexico.
